After studying abroad in Chile and working in an authentic Peruvian restaurant in my college town here in the US, I've been on the hunt for an authentic Peruvian restaurant in Philly. Well gracias a Dios that I found El Balconcito!! In addition to Peruvian cuisine, they also feature Portuguese on their menu. The portions were huge and the food was very enjoyable. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, just as the Latino culture tends to be. You know it must be good if you're the only non-Latino people there.
